Committee formed to probe into matter

RAWALPINDI - After surfacing the issue of illegal appointment of three real brothers as doctors in District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ), Allied Hospitals (AH) Chief Executive (CE) Dr Musaddiq Khan on Tuesday constituted an inquiry committee besides taking the record of the hospital into custody. The inquiry committee, comprise on senior doctors, would submit its detail report to AH CE Dr Musaddiq Khan after conducting a probe into the matter. Police have also been asked to arrest the fake doctors. According to details, Medical Superintendent (MS) DHQ Dr Khalid Iqbal Malik appointed three real brothers Syed Sullah Uddin as Duty Medical Superintendent (DMS) Evening, Syed Allaodin as Medical Officer (MO) ENT Ward and Syed Naseer Uddin was appointed as MO Neuro Surgical Ward by MS DHQ. The doctors have started working after assuming their charges. However, during scrutiny the medical degrees of the said doctors were proved forged and on this AH CE Dr Musaddiq took strict action whereas the three doctors remained absent from their duties today (Tuesday). Dr Musaddiq Khan told the media men that he had no any official record about the three fake doctors as no any doctor could be appointed in any government hospital with out recommendation of authorities concerned, he added. Upon a query, he replied that inquiry about this heinous misconduct was under way while strict action would also be taken against the responsible. When contacted, MS DHQ Dr Khalid Iqbal Malik refused the impression that the three doctors performed their duties in DHQ. He said that one month ago the three doctors came in his office with Punjab government official orders regarding appointment in DHQ. He said that they were appointed; however, they did not assume their charges and yesterday (Monday) they again visited my office and tender their resignations. Dr Khalid Iqbal said that when the authorities concerned scrutinized the degrees of the three brothers they proved forged and fake. Meanwhile, opening ceremony of Inter Sports tournament organised by Federal Government Educational Institutions Cantt and Garrison (FGEI/CG)was held in FG Technical High School Tariqabad Rawalpindi here on Tuesday. Lt Col GSO-I Rawalpindi Region Muhammad Ejaz Malik graced the occasion as chief guest, who was warmly welcomed by Sports Secretary Khalid Mehmood Kiyani, Principal FG Technical High School Tariqabad Akbar Jan and the other heads of institutions of the city. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest expressed his views about the importance and the role of games for building the character of students. Games created qualities like understanding, tolerance, discipline, spirit of sportsmanship, which was very useful in our practical life, he added. He advised the students to participate equally in sports along with their studies for mental and physical fitness. The tournament included the matches of Football, Hockey, Basketball, Cricket, Bed mention, Table Tennis, Volley Ball and athletics. The tournaments will continue till 7th October and closing ceremony will be held on 8th October 2009.
