Palm Sunday tomorrow

ISLAMABAD  - The Christian community across the world including Pakistan will mark Palm Sunday - a Christian moveable feast that falls on the Sunday before Easter on April 1.
The feast commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in all four canonical Gospels.
The last week of Lent (40-day fasting) will start with Palm Sunday, which celebrates the day Jesus entered Jerusalem and the people laid down palms at his feet.
In many churches, Palm Sunday will be marked by the distribution of palm leaves (often tied into crosses) to the assembled worshipers. According to the Gospels, Jesus came to Jerusalem, and the celebrating people there lay down their cloaks in front of him, and also lay down small branches of trees. Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem symbolized his entry as the Prince of Peace.
For Christians, Palm Sunday, often referrs to “Passion Sunday,” marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday.
The Bible reveals that when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds greeted him by waving palm branches and covering his path with palm branches.
Palm Sunday is the sixth and last Sunday of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week before Easter, commemorating events in the last days of Jesus’ life on Earth.
Traditionally, many churches will have a procession in or around the church while people sing songs of praise and wave palm leaves.
