Altaf’s bail extended till December

KARACHI - The London metropolitan police have extended the bail of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain in a money laundering case till December 2014.
MQM chief Altaf was informed of extension in the bail through his lawyers. It is worth mentioning here that Altaf was to appear before police for interview by 31st of July. Commenting on the development, the MQM chief said he was expecting the extension and it was a routine matter under the British law.
He appealed to his party workers and sympathisers to show restrain until the whole procedure of law is completed. He furthersaid the MQM, being the fourth largest political party of Pakistan, wants a true democracy and is struggling to end feudalism in the country.  
It is pertinent to mention that MQM chief Altaf Hussain, living in self-exile for over two decades, was arrested on June 3 after months of investigation by the British authorities into a money laundering case. However, on June 7 he was released on bail.
