Ulema support talks with TTP, appeals for ceasefire

KARACHI - Wafaq-ul-Madaris Alarabia has appealed to government and Taliban for an immediate ceasefire before dialogue in order to create sustainable atmosphere for negotiations.
The meeting of Wafaq-ul-Madaris Alarabia was held here on Saturday and some15 clerics participated in the meeting. Maulana Rafi Usmani and Maulana Taqqi Usmani headed the meeting.
The Ulema welcomed dialogue process between both parties and said that many families had been ruined due to loss of innocent lives.
The participants of the meeting urged to stop bloodshed as enemies of the country were taking advantage out of that.
The clerics including Maulana Saleemullah Khan, Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani, Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Maulana Fazlur Raheem, Maulana Hafeez Jalandhari, Mufti Muhammad Ashraf and others.
 , Maulana Muhammad Hassan, Maulana Syed Adnan Kakakhel, Mufti Mukhtaruddin and Maulana Dr Sher Ali Shah attended the meeting.
The religious scholars announced their support for the dialogue process between the government and Taliban.
They also expressed concern that the evil forces would try their best to sabotage peace process with the Taliban; therefore, they added that the peace process must continue at all cost.
The religious scholars also demanded of the parties to hold serious and realistic dialogue in favour of the country and the nation.
'If both sides are sincere in resolving the issues through dialogue, it would be a pious act for pious country, However, it is essential to make a peaceful atmosphere for the talks.'
They said oppression always resulted in a bloodshed and it could never maintain peace.
