Less investment due to loadshedding: Nasreen

Karachi - The acting City Nazim Nasreen Jalil said that Nazim Karachi Mustafa Kamal had worked day and night to create better and conducive environment for investment opportunities in the metropolis but the continuous load shedding of electricity and gas was putting adverse affect on the investment activities. She expressed these views while addressing a delegation of National Security College/University Islamabad comprising 82 officers at Civic Centre Lawn on Friday. The acting Nazim said that local government system had proved beneficial for Karachi. The middle class leadership has shown excellent performance in the resolution of citizen's problems. Not only the World Economic Forum acknowledged Karachi as a fast emerging mega city but the City Nazim Mustafa Kamal was also declared as among world's three best mayors at the moment. She also expressed that the people in Karachi had felt positive and refreshing change due to the development works carried out over the last three years. She added that the city had been controlled by 13 different organisations and the City Nazim has control over only 31 percent area of the total city. She said that being the most important city of the country, Karachi must not be deprived of its funds at any level. She said that the city government had paid especial attention of the education and health care sectors while upgrading the hospitals run by city government. Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has introduced a 24-hour working culture in Karachi. She also demonstrated that the city government was presently facing tremendous challenges and therefore all the civic agencies must be given under the control of City Nazim. Addressing the ceremony Rear Admiral Tayyab Ali Dogar said that the city government had put up exemplary performance and the transport problems were solved rapidly. He also pinpointed that a visible change might be felt in Karachi due to the development works performed by Haq Parast leadership in last three years. DCO Karachi Javed Hanif thanked the delegation for visiting City Government Karachi. In the end acting City Nazim Nasreen Jalil presented CDGK souvenir to Rear Admiral Tayyab Ali Dogar. A documentary containing development in Karachi was also shown on this occasion.
