Killing of Balochs a conspiracy: Lashkari

KARACHI - Senator Haji Lashkari Raisani on Wednesday said that the recent killing of Baloch people in the metropolis was a big conspiracy to separate the Baloch from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) but the people did not let the conspiracy work. He was addressing a public gathering here in Lyari. Raisani, who is also the PPP Balochistan visit the office of Pakistan Baloch Ajuman, a social welfare organization, in the area, where he was accompanied by Federal Minister for Livestock Hamayun Khan and Advisor to Balochistan CM Amin Mengal, Naveed Baloch and other prominent leaders of the PPP Balochistan. He said that Lyari remained a symbol of PPP in Karachi and people of Lyari are devoted to the party and philosophy of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. The Baloch senator assured that he would soon call on President and apprised him of their genuine grievances. He said that a conspiracy was hatched in recent past to drive a wedge between the residents of Lyari and the PPP. However, the Baloch senator claimed it was foiled by the dedicated workers of the party with the cooperation of the people. The senator said that people of Lyari are still facing several problems and they are suffering because of the intense unemployment and suffering with other such basic issues, but he assured that he will take up all their issues with the president. Commenting on the recent killings of Baloch people, he said that the people of Lyari and Malir should be considered as helpless, it was witnessed that the entire Balochistan took out for their supports; he added that the people of Balochistan will continue their support and stand by their people living in Karachi. Besides local PPP leaders, the meeting was also attended by a large number of women. Earlier, Aman committee leaders met the senator and complained about indifferent attitude of the local PPP leadership towards their problems. The PPP leaders from Baloch have also offered their condolence over the slain Baloch people, who have been killed in the recent ethnic violence in the metropolis.
