Interior Minister Rehman Malik has chaired a high-level meeting over the law and order situation in Sindh province especially in metropolis city of Karachi here in Islamabad on Monday morning, a private TV reported. According to sources, Federal Secretary for Interior Affairs, the heads of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC), Chief Secretary of Sindh, IG and Director General (DG) Rangers also attended the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, the attendees offered prays for the martyrs of Karachi debacle, following which, the investigation report over the Karachi terrorism, occurred after bomb blast on Ashura procession, was also submitted from investigation agencies and analysis over various evidences in regard to incident were tabled before meeting, sources privy to interior ministry claimed. Meeting also mulled over the measures to thwart such tragedies in future and discussed steps necessary to be taken to bring to justice, the anti-state elements that are involved in plotting such attacks, sources added.
