Muttahida has fake mandate: PML-F
 
 
 

KARACHI - Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) provincial secretary general Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh has said that his party will not make alliance with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) as “it is a fake opposition”.
He demanded resignation of the Sindh CM, saying he has been completely failed in restoring peace to Karachi. He said that the government was making efforts to bring opposition in Sindh Assembly through a “gath jhor” but the people of Sindh would never tolerate this in anyway.
He said this while addressing a press conference held at Rajar House, residence of Federal Minister Haji Khuda Bux Rajar, here on Sunday.
Sheharyar Mahar, Akbar Rashidi, Qasam Siraj Soomro, Kamran Tessori, Mir Muhammad Khokhar, Akram Wali Mohammad, Zubair Memon, Nadeem Mirza, Irfanullah Marwat, Mir Amanullah Talpur, Anwar Soomro, Dr Abdul Hameed Memon, Syed Qutab Ahmad, Sahibzada Owais noorani, Naeemurehman and other leaders and representatives of the member parties of the alliance were also present in the meeting. The meeting was convened by the PML-F.
He demanded that Election Commission of Pakistan should rectify the voters list process in Karachi as per rules ordered by the apex court. He also demanded that next general elections should be held under the supervision of Army and judiciary to ensure fair and free elections.
Imtiaz referred to the Sindh Peoples’ Local Government Act (SPLGA) and said PPP still claims that this act was not harmful to the people of Sindh. He said it was the law which divides the people of Sindh.
Yet a 10-member parliamentary committee was constituted by the PML-F which will decide mutual candidates for the next general elections.
He said PML-F had decided to participate in the opposition Train March which left on Sunday with a demand to remove the anomalies in the voters list verification process.
In the meeting ten members of the committee were appointed that they are; Jam Madad Ali, Saleem Zia, Masroor Jatoi, Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, Maulana Asadullah Bhutto, Hyder Shahani, Zain Shah, Alam Shah, Mohammad Shakeel Qadiri and Haleem Khan Ghouri.
PM GIVES CHEQUE OF RS1M TO FOUNDER OF PAPJ: Founder of Pakistan Association of Photojournalists (PAPJ), Zahid Hussein, called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the Governor House on Sunday.
The Prime Minister gave a cheque of Rs one million in recognition of his services in the realms of photo journalism.
Zahid Hussein informed the Prime Minister that he has 150,000 negatives of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and 45,000 of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
He said that these pertain to various political and social events.
The PM lauded the commitment and dedication of Zahid Hussein to the cause of the profession. He hoped that these negatives would be preserved so that the younger generation could benefit from these photos.
Moreover, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf attended the wedding of Jam Asif Raza, the nephew of Sindh Minister Jam Saifullah Dharejo, at a hotel here on Saturday evening.
Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, MNA Faryal Talpur, ministers and elected representatives also attended the wedding ceremony.
