Rs2m bounty announced for convicts

KARACHI- The Karachi Police on Monday announced bounty of rupees two million for the arrest of convicted involved in the murder case of local TV channel reporter Wali Khan Babar.
The two proclaimed offenders Kamran aka Kamran Shani and Faisal aka Faisal Mota have already been convicted with death penalty.
Karachi Police chief announced a reward of two million rupees for anyone who assists in the arrest of Kamran Shani and Faisal Mota. “Their names are further included in the Exit Control List as well,” said the Karachi Police spokesperson. “Identity of the informer shall be kept confidential.”
A special Anti-Terrorism Court in Kandhkot on Saturday announced sentences in Wali Khan Babar’s murder case, awarding death penalty to two and life imprisonment to four accused.
Wali Khan Babar, 28, was gunned down in Liaquatabad area on January 13, 2011 when he was going home from his office in Super Market police precincts. A murder case was lodged the same day.
Faisal Mehmood aka Nafsiyati, Naveed aka Polka, Muhammad Ali Rizvi and Shahrukh aka Mani were granted life imprisonment. One more accused Shakeel has been set free due to lack of evidence against him.
Liaquat aka Tension, considered to be the main accused, was killed in an encounter with the police last year.
