13 people killed in firing, accidents

KARACHI - Thirteen persons were killed during separate incidents in various parts of the city on Monday. Noor-ul-Islam, a resident of the Shershah, was on the way to home along with his wife and children on motorcycle when two armed men opened fire on him near New Highway Bridge. As a result, he died on the spot. Police suspected personal enmity behind the murder and have registered the case against unknown culprits. In another incident, Zishan Ali incidentally received a fatal bullet shot from his own pistol in the Saudabad police station area. Meanwhile, Islam Din was on the way to home when some unknown bandits shot him dead over resistance and managed to flee. On the other hand, police have recovered the dead body of Raja Mubarak from the Korangi area. Police suspected that personal enmity was the reason behind the incident. In SITE police limits, two persons were shot dead separately over resistance during mobile snatching. Shakeel was killed in Metorvil area while Rafiq shot dead near Paracha Chowk. Similarly, a 55-year-old man was gunned down for offering resistance during mobile snatching within the limits of Shahrah-e-Noorjahan Police Station. Two armed men opened fire on Muhammad Hussain near Nomaish Interaction in the limits of Soldier Bazzar Police station when he was going on a motorcycle. Resultantly, he sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital but could not survive.  Meanwhile, dead body of a woman was found from an apartment in Gulistan-e-Juhar. In another incident, one Asif Inam, the father of two children, shot himself dead here in his house situated within the limits of Al-Falah Police Station. Meanwhile, the Karachi-bound Khyber Mail crushed a passer-by to death here in the Landhi area within the limits of Quaidabad Police Station. Deceased Asghar Wali, 40, was crossing the railway track when the speedy train hit him. Similarly, Siddique Zaman, 40, was on the way to home on a motorcycle when a speedy truck hit his two-wheeler. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. In another incident, a speeding truck hit two unidentified men in Gulshan-e-Mamar area killing them on the spot.
