National Electric Power regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved 61 paisa per unit increase in the tariff of Karachi Electricity Supply Company. The increased tariff has been made in the head of fuel adjustment during April to June. According to details KESC had requested NEPRA to increase more than Rs 1 per unit for monthly fuel adjustment and on hearing of this application NEPRA has approved 61 paisa per unit increase in rates of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC). During the hearing NEPRA' member Maqbool Ahmed Khawaja giving a dissenting note stated to change the mechanism of electricity increasing rates. However NEPRA approved increased in tariff for KESC with majority vote.
