CID officer among three killed in Karachi target-killing

Three more people, including a CID police officer, were killed during ongoing firing incidents in the city on Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 15 over the past 24 hours. According to the police, five persons, including two women, were also injured in the violence. Police said Ali Hussain, a CID Head Constable, was targeted by unknown armed men in Old Vegetable Market area outside his residence. Meanwhile, two dead bodies, bearing torture signs were separately found in Sarjani Town and Gulshan-e-Sheraz areas, adding that another body of a young man was recovered by the police near Crown cinema at Maripur Road. Five people, among them two women and two police personnel, were injured in the sporadic firing incidents in Malir, Kharadar and Teenhati areas. Moreover, Rangers claimed to have arrested some 13 suspected criminals during a swoop in different localities of the violence-ridden capital of Sindh. Police registered cases of the incidents and started investigations.
