Two kidnappers killed in shootout



KARACHI - Two kidnappers were killed in an exchange of fire took place in Ittehad Town for recovery of a child abducted on February 22 for ransom of Rs20 million. Anti Violence Crime Cell of police chased the kidnappers affiliated with a banded outfit which demanded ransom for the release of six-year-old child Umair Nasurallah.
Police rushed to the spot and killed two operatives in an exchange of fire while rest of their accomplices were managed to escape. Police said that kidnappers were portraying themselves operatives of ‘TTP’ and also grabbed a local government school where they kept the child in detention.  In another exchange of fire in Sanjrani Goth within the remits of Sohrab Goth police station, a bandit was shot dead while his three associates were managed to escape. Police said police on routine patrol tried to intercept the bandits when they were looting people. During an encounter, a bandit sustained bullet wounds and died on the way to hospital.
