Jalal alleges govt of implicating opponents in terror cases

KARACHI - Sindh United Party chief Syed Jalal Mahmood Shah, while lashing out at the government on Sunday, said it was patronising terrorists in the city on one hand and implicating political workers in false cases of terrorism to victimise them for opposing its wrong policies on the other hand. Speaking at a meeting of party leaders and workers at Haider Manzil here, Shah said 33 leaders and workers of the SUP had been implicated in false cases of terrorism in Sakrand alone. The government had been trying to weaken the election campaign launched by the SUP in the said constituency, he alleged. He said the government was terrorising opponents by conducting raids at their houses violating the sanctity of four-walls. “We however will not bow down to such threats of the government,” he asserted. Shah further said the attitude of the present government had become intolerable, and warned it not to take benefit of their silence. “In fact, the rulers are scared of the SUP and other member organisations of the Save Sindh Committee that have exposed its evil designs.” The SUP chief appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan and chief election commissioner to take notice of the situation.
