KARACHI - All Pakistan Minority Alliance (APMA) staged a protest demonstration here Tuesday outside the Press Club on the 10th Martyrdom anniversary of Bishop John Joseph. A large number of women and youths participated in the demonstration. The protestors were carrying banners and placards with their demands inscribed on them and demanded immediate elimination of the biased law of 295-B/C. Addressing the protesters, Secretary General APMA Sindh chapter former MPA Michel Javed demanded to restore all the 173 employees of the minority community in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town and said that strict action should be taken against the officials who involved in undue sacking of the employees. He said that former rulers have ignored the sacrifices of martyr Bishop John and no action has been taken against the injustice meted out to the minorities in the country. He said that the day is observed as Black Day in the country as their leader Bishop John Joseph scarified his life while struggling for rights of the minorities and for elimination of the law of 295-B/C ten years ago on the same day. He vowed to continue their struggle for the rights of the minorities and lamented that the law against the minorities is still intact. He said that the assassination of PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto was a huge loss for the nation and particularly for the minorities and lauded the efforts made by BB for minorities' rights. He appealed to all the elected political parties to play their role to secure the rights of the minorities.
