KARACHI - The last ditch hectic efforts of Hakim Ali Zardari, the father of PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, and MQM chief Altaf Hussain proved fruitful to secure the consent of Pir Pagaro that PML-F lawmakers would caste their votes in favour of Asif Zardari, well-informed sources told The Nation here on Saturday. On late Friday night, Sindh Governor, Ishrtual Ebad Khan, visited the Kingari House to convince Pir Pagaro that PML-F lawmakers caste their votes in favour of Asif Ali Zardari in the presidential election rather than using the option to remain abstain. The PML-F head asked the Sindh Governor that PML-F Sindh members would remain neutral but later MQM chief Altaf Hussain and Hakim Ali Zardari talked to Pir Pagaro and succeeded in getting his support for the PPP candidate. Resultantlty, the PML-F lawmakers, on the order of Pir Pagaro and their party leader in the Sindh Assembly, Jam Madad Ali, were convinced at the eleventh hour to caste their votes in favour of Asif Ali Zardari.
