KARACHI - Heavy contingent of the police conducted targeted operation in various areas including Khayaban-e-Badar of the City, apprehending at least twenty five suspects.
Numerous suspicious vehicles also were impounded during the operation, adding various firearms including SMG, 6 TTs and a pistol were seized from the custody of the miscreants.
According to details, Rangers conducted targeted operation in different localities of the metropolis for eliminate no-go area, and detained at least 10 suspects and also recovered weapons from their custody.
A Rangers spokesman said that different teams conducted targeted raid in various parts of the metropolis including Jamali Goth, Super Market, Chota Plaza area, Natha Khan area, Sherpao Colony, Memon Goth areas, Dalmia, Shantinagar , Bilwalshah, Hazara Goth, Old Sabzi Mandi, PIB Colony, Shah Latif Town, Miwanwali Colony, Nishter Colony and Hussain Goth Nazimabad. He claimed to remove 31 barriers from the various localities of the city including Lyari, Marton Quarters, Risala, Fresco Chowck and Aram Bagh.
Rangers also recovered an abducted child from Mominabad area, Orangi Town and arrested two kidnappers during a targeted operation. Sources said that the child was kidnapped from Rawalpindi for ransom. Further investigation is in underway.
Special Investigation Unit claimed to have arrested two alleged outlaws affiliated with Qasim dacoit group, Tariq Ghulam Hussain and Abdul Rasool Punno and recovered two TT pistol from their possession during targeted raid at Sher Shah Area.
SSP/SIU Mohammad Farooq Awan said that the arrested culprits were involved in killing of police personnel and various robbery cases.
He further said ring leader of the group Qasim was killed three months ago in a police encounter at Rahimyar Khan.
Preedy police claimed to have apprehended at least four extortionists. Police said that in an initial course of interrogation, the suspects confessed their involvement in kidnapping for ransom.
They were also used to collect extortion money from hundred of traders of various markets including electronics markets, cloth market, Sarafa Bazaar, Shopping Mall of DHA, Progressive Limited at Pakistan Chowk, Kharadar.
He further said the suspects in many incidents have received amount through easy paisa from Mangopir and Thatta.
The Crime Investigation Department claimed to have arrested outlaws of interior Sindh from Kalakot, Lyari. At a news conference, CID SSP Fayaz Khan said that the arrested culprits were involved in more than 22 murder cases while 13 other cases of robbery and kidnapping for ransom were also registered against them at different police stations of interior Sindh. Khan said a CID team held them and recovered huge cache of weapons including rocket launchers and pistols.
SSP Khan said the culprits belong to Gubhar Mugheri group of Larkana and they had recently joined Lyari gangster group.
