People avoid to express open support for MQM: Altaf

KARACHI (APP) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Chief Altaf Hussain on Saturday said the millions of people in the country, who belong to poor-middle-class have started assembling under the flag of his party but due to some constraints and pressures of the feudals, they are reluctant to openly support the MQM. He was addressing via telephone from London to a gathering of party activists and leaders of different wings at MQM's headquarter, Azizabad here, said a statement issued by MQM here. Altaf said the philosophy of his party is being rapidly spread among the poor-middle-class in the society across the country. He was of the opinion the people of poor-middle-class are silently supporting his party due to fear of losing their houses to the influential people, whom he called as "Jaagirdar and Waderas". He said MQM is the only party in Pakistan, which has emerged from the poor-middle-class people and has always sent its representatives to Senate and assemblies from the same section of the society. Altaf Hussain called upon the members of his party to keep a close eye on the circumstances and keep united and organised as well as play their active role for promotion of the philosophy of MQM. Among other notables, members of MQM Rabita Committee were also present.
