A petition requesting the quashing of a ransom case against Mohajir Qaumi Movement Chairman Afaq Ahmed was filed in the Sindh High Court on Saturday. The court would hear the petition filed by Afaq Ahmeds counsel on Monday (October 10). The petition stated that the ransom case against Afaq Ahmed was politically motivated as he had been granted bail by the SHC on September 26, 2011 in the last of the cases against him. The petitioner requested the court to quash the case against Afaq and order his release. The court admitted the petition for hearing which is expected to begin on October 10.
