Altaf questions peace talks after Islamabad blast

KARACHI- MQM leader Altaf Hussain today questioned the motives of the government behind peace talks with TTP after today’s blast. A private TV channel today reported that he urged the authorities to take strict action against today’s bomb attack in Sabzi Mandi area of the federal capital.

Altaf Hussain said that the Taliban continued their shameless activities during the ongoing dialogue process with the government. The government also released 19 TTP prisoners involved in the killings of soldiers and other innocent people, he said. The MQM chief said the Taliban denied of any concern with the recent bomb attack in Islamabad but the nation has the right to know the reasons behind peace talks with such militants.

Militants are demanding the release of hundreds of prisoners and the withdrawal of the army from some of the tribal areas along the border with Afghanistan.
