KARACHI - A homeopathic doctor was shot dead on sectarian grounds here in Yousaf Plaza police precincts.
Police said Qasim Abbas, 45, was going home from his clinic situated at Yousaf Plaza when gunmen targeted him at Block 16, FB Area near Water Pump interaction.
Police said the gunmen riding a motorbike sprayed bullets. As result Abbas and his driver Kaleem sustained injuries. Assailants managed to flee while the victims were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced the death of Abbas while admitted his driver with critical wounds. Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen condemned the incident and demanded immediate action against the criminals involved.
On the other side, a youth hanged himself to death at Yousaf Goth. Police said the victim Muhammad Rehan, 24, committed suicide after the family dispute over some issue. Police handed the body over to the family after autopsy.
Meanwhile, a huge blast ripped through the City’s posh locality of Zamzama in Clifton police precincts on Thursday.
Clifton police said half kilogramme explosive material packed in a leather bag was exploded at Lane 6, main Zamzama street – the main commercial area of Clifton.
Initial investigation revealed that culprits threw the explosive materials from a vehicle and escaped. The incident occurred when first lady SHO Syeda Ghazala took charge of the Clifton police station.
In another similar cracker attack, the culprits targeted the police mobile on patrolling. The incident occurred near Chotta Plaza where police mobile was doing routine patrolling. The militants threw the cracker and escaped. The cops escaped the attack.
It is worth mentioning here it was the fourth such attack that took place in the same locality of Sohrab Goth within last 24 hours. The law enforcement agencies claimed to have carried out search operation in the localities and arrested over a dozen suspects.
It is worth mentioning here that the areas of Sohrab Goth is considered as the dominated area of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan where all the police stations have already been declared highly sensitive.
