KARACHI - Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan made a telephone call to Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad on Sunday and discussed the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi.
Nisar assured the governor to investigate alleged torture of MQM worker and urged all the political parties to lend a hand with the government in carrying forward the targeted operation in Karachi.
He said cooperation and consensus among all political parties and government was mandatory to get fruitful results for the betterment of people. Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the ongoing targeted operation in the city.
Source said MQM leadership had contacted Governor Sindh deploring the attitude of police and Rangers against party and its activists and demanded to take notice of extra-judicial killings and illegal detention of the party workers. Sources said MQM demanded removal of Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Shahid Hayyat and establishment of a monitoring committee to examine the ongoing targeted operation comprising the stake holders of the port city. Governor had ensured the MQM that he would discuss the issues with the federal government to eliminate the reservation of the MQM over the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi.
