KARACHI - Eid Milad-un-Nabi marking the birthday of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) will be celebrated with religious fervour and traditional zeal in the metropolis like others parts of the country on Tuesday (today). Special processions in the connection of the holy day will be taken out from across the City and Na'at and Quran Khawani mehfils are being organised across the City to mark this auspicious day. The mosques, houses and important buildings have been illuminated with colourful lights. The entire City has been decorated with colourful buntings and religious flags holding the picture of Naleen-e-Mubarak, models of Masjid-e-Nabvi, Khana-e-Kaba and Roza-e-Rasool (S.A.W.W) have installed by the faithful in the various parts of the metropolis. All the government offices, main shopping plazas and commercial centres will remain closed, as the government has already declared public holiday. Various educational institutions will hold special functions to celebrate the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.W). The celebrations are in full pace in the metropolis, hundreds of Milad rallies are taken out in the City to mark the celebration of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W), Dawat-e-Islami, Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat, Sunni Tehreek, Anjuman Talba-e-Islam, Anjuman Nojawanan-e-Islam, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Markazi Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Mehfil-e-Murtaza, Imamia Students Organisation, Jaffaria Alliance Pakistan, Jamia Binoria Al-Aalami and others organisations have organised various programme's to mark the celebration of the birthday of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W). People from all walks of life will participate in the central Milad processions in the metropolis. Different social welfare organisations and philanthropists will distribute milk and soft drinks among the participants of the procession. The central procession will take out from Memon Masjid, Bolton Market led by Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat Ameer Allama Shah Turabul Haq Qadri, along with other leaders of the Ahle Sunnat community. This procession will move on its designated route and end at Nishtar Park. Besides, many other processions appearing from different areas will end at Nishtar Park, where the faithful attend the central Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.W) ceremony of the holy day. Ulema will address the participants of the processions and shed light on the sacred life of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W). Literary societies, educational institutions and social and cultural associations will hold declamation contests, quiz programmes and Mahafil-e-Milad to highlight various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W). Special arrangements have been made throughout the routes of processions. A co-ordinated security plan has been put in place in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.W) celebrations and to meet any possible act of terrorism in the City. The plan was chalked out at a high level meeting held at Rangers Sindh Headquarter with DG Rangers (Sindh) Maj Gen Liaquat Ali in chair and attended by Home Secretary Arif Ahmed Khan, CCPO Karachi, Deputy DG Rangers, DIGs of Karachi's three security zones, DIG Traffic besides Ranger's senior officers. The Rangers Sindh and police have been put on alert in the province and especially in Karachi and security arrangements in this respect were being made more stringent. However, the walk-through gates, secret surveillance cameras, arrangements should also be made for sweeping by bomb disposal squad.
