Railways to start campaign against ticketless traveling



KARACHI  - Pakistan Railways, Karachi Division, has warned that passengers travelling on tickets not issued in their own names would be treated as ticketless and charged with actual fare along with penalty.A statement said that the warning came in a set of guidelines issued on the directive of Divisional Superintendent Anzar Rizvi to facilitate the genuine passengers.The DS Railway said that the step was taken as part of measures adopted to check black marketing of tickets.He said that Divisional Commercial Officers have been deputed to check passengers travelling without ticket or on tickets issued on fake names.He said that strict checking in this regard will start from August 10 and will continue till Eid days.PAKISTAN RAILWAYS TO OPERATE 3 EID SPECIAL TRAINS: Pakistan Railways has decided to run three Eid special trains to clear the rush of passengers intending to go to their native homes to celebrate Eidul Fitr with their near and dear ones.According to Railways sources two Eid special trains will be operated from Karachi and one from Peshawar.They said that the first Eid special will leave Karachi Cantonment Station for Peshawar on August 16 while another Eid Special will be operated from Karachi Cantonment Station to Lahore via Faisalabad on August 17.Both the Eid special trains to be composed of 12 coaches each would include Economy class.The third Eid special train, to be composed of 10 coaches, will leave Peshawar for Lahore on August 18.Meanwhile, Sindh Social Welfare Minister Nargis ND Khan on Thursday said that stern action would be taken against profiteers and monitoring committees had been constituted for the purpose.The minister said that committees were working for the provision of ‘Sasta Atta’ under the Ramazan Package 2012.She said that it would be ensured that atta is being soled at the rates determined by the government for the Ramzan Package 2012.The minister said that stern action would be initiated against those resorting to profiteering.Manzoor Wassan undertakes FIVE-day visit to Sukkur, Khairpur: Provincial Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan will undertake a five-day visit to Sukkur and Khairpur from August 10.An official said here on Thursday that the Minister will address public gatherings, inspect the work of on-going development schemes and review the law and order.He said that during the visit Manzoor Wassan will also meet the notables, people as well as the workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).The minister will also perform the inauguration of the development schemes.In his ancestral village - Nawab Khan Wassan, he will meet the notables, people of the constituency as well as the workers of the PPP.
