Clifton Grid to get new transmission line soon

KARACHI  - Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has announced that Clifton Grid Station would be getting a new 132 KV double circuit overhead transmission line which would significantly improve the reliability of electricity supply system to the areas connected to the grid.
Currently the Clifton Grid Station is supplied through a single circuit temporary arrangement coming in from the Mai Kolachi Gantry. On Tuesday (tomorrow), the Clifton Grid Station would be shutdown from 8:00am in the morning to 6:00pm in the evening, for the stated installation of the new 132kV double circuit transmission line.
KESC also announced that the feeders supplying power to strategic locations and sensitive connections falling in the affected areas would be back-fed from alternate sources during the shutdown.
The KESC authorities have said that the step has been taken in the best interest of the people of Karachi as the issue of repeated power loadshedding was manifolded due to old transmission line. They said that the new line would help reduce power cuts in the area.
