JI will take active part in upcoming LB polls, says Hafiz Naeem

KARACHI - Jamaat-i-Islami Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that Jamaat-i-Islami will take active part in the upcoming Local Bodies polls.
He said that the party leadership is in contact with the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and other parties in order to evolve an effective strategy for getting best results in LB polls.
He expressed these views while addressing a workers convention, organised by JI Shah Faisal Zone in connection with the preparations of LB elections and successful campaign of hides collection.
Addressing a gathering, Hafiz Naeem asked the party workers to prepare themselves for LB elections, adding, that the every worker of JI should take part in the election campaign with courage and steadfastness.
Referring the recent meeting with the PTI provincial leadership ‘fruitful’, JI Karachi Chief said that the leaders of both the parties have discussed the overall situation for LB polls in details, adding, that the party leadership was in the favour of deliberations with other parties of Sindh province.
He further said that the chances of rigging in the LB elections in the prevailing circumstances where the LEAs are active due to ongoing targeted action will definitely raise question mark on the performance of the government and other authorities concerned.
Commenting on the US Army withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2014, he said that the massive changes are likely to be expected after the withdrawal of US Army from Afghanistan.
“We should prepare ourselves for spreading the message of Islam among the people and take them into confidence about the conspiracies hatched by external powers against Pakistan”, he maintained.
On the occasion, JI Karachi Chief congratulated the workers on record collection of hides on Eid-ul-Azha.
JI District East Ameer Younus Barai said that the people of city are facing threats of terrorism, extortion and strikes since long, however; JI will not let the people of Karachi alone and free them from the clutches of terrorist mafia.
On the occasion, Younus Barai, JI Information Secretary Zahid Askari and Ameer Shah Faisal Zone Muhammad Ashraf distributed shields among the party workers on their excellent performance in collection of hides on Eid-ul-Azha.
