KARACHI - The ministers of Sindh government while defending the targeted action in Karachi said the operation had been started against the criminals so the political parties should avoid giving it ethnic or political colour.
Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani while talking to the media men at Sindh Assembly on Wednesday said if MQM believes their workers were innocent then it should go to the courts.
Durrani said the PPP never shut Karachi forcibly over the arrest of its leaders or workers so the parties should avoid creating difficulties for the citizens.
Meanwhile, Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that targeted action is being launched in Karachi with the help of intelligence agencies, police and rangers and no certain party was being targeted in this action. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said targeted action was only being initiated against the criminals. Karachi will be cleaned from the criminals. Karachi cannot be left on the mercy of terrorists and extortionists. He appealed to the political parties to help the government in eliminating the terrorists.
“People from all communities and all political parties live in Karachi and targeted action should not be given political and linguistic colour.” It may be noted that PML-N, PML-F, PTI and other parties have expressed satisfaction over the targeted operation being conducted by the Rangers and police against the criminals, advising the MQM not to make hue and cry over the arrest of criminals.
