KARACHI - Hazrat Khadija (AS), the first wife of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), rendered meritorious services and great sacrifices for the cause of Islam during its formative years, said the speakers at a seminar organised under the auspices of the 'FAITH', (Fight Against Intolerance, Terrorism and Hatred), at local hotel here on Friday. Scholars and legislators belonging to different religions particularly Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Zoroastrianism including President of Jaffaria Alliance Pakistan and 'FAITH', Senator Allama Abbas Kumaili, Maulana Shah Ferozuddin Rehmani, Khawaja Ameen Nizami (Sajada Nasheen of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia shrine), Sardar Ramesh Singh, MNA Manohar Lal, MPA Asif Stephen, Naurus President United Minority Organization, Vice-President Jaffaria Alliance Maulana Hussain Masoodi, Allama Aftab Jaffari, Ms Neelam Stephen and others spoke on the occasion. Addressing the seminar, Senator Allama Abbas Kumaili said that Hazrat Khadija (AS) rendered great sacrifices for the cause of Islam. He said, during his years in Makkah, Hazrat Khadija (AS) was the main pillar of support for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). She was the first one to embrace Islam, which was the testimony of the Prophet's character that she believed in the truthfulness of Muhammad as the Messenger of Allah. He added the Holy Prophet (PBUH) did not marry any other women during the lifetime of Hazrat Khadija (AS) in honour of her prestige. She was the only wife of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) who bore children for him. Abbas Kumali said that Hazrat Khadija (AS) whole-heartedly supported the noble cause of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) cause by placing her wealth at his disposal. Khawaja Ameen Nizami said that although Hazrat Khadija (AS) came from a very affluent background but she did not shy from sacrificing her wealth for the cause of Islam. She even willingly went through difficulties of three years of social and economic embargo imposed upon Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) and his family. Maulana Hussain Masoodi said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had great respect and affection for Hazrat Khadija (SA) and expressed it on many occasions even after her death. The Prophet (PBUH) reflected his heartfelt devotion to her during his monogamous life during their 24 years of marriage. MNA Manohar Lal said the life of Hazrat Khadija was a role model for ladies of all generations and belonging to all religions, sects and races.
