KARACHI - As many as five more new dengue fever cases have been reported in the city during the last two days, from May 13 to 14, taking the total number of cases to103 during the on going year.
Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell of Sindh Health Department on Tuesday confirmed that five more new case of dengue fever have been reported in the city from May 13 to 14, 2013.
Meanwhile, Lahore District Coordination Officer Rizwan Mehboob on Tuesday directed all town administrators to remain vigilant of dengue larva during the month of May.
The DCO also directed them to pay visit on under construction sites and to visit prominent buildings of city and check for the presence of dengue larva.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding Anti-Dengue arrangements at Town Hall. Assistant Commissioners, Town Administrators, EDO Health, Deputy District Officers Health, TMOs and others attended the meeting. On this occasion EDO Health Lahore briefed the DCO about dengue arrangements and informed that Anti-Dengue campaign is aggressively going on in all towns of the city. On reporting of one dengue fever patient in Union Council 131, the DCO ordered Town Administrator and Health officer to conduct a thorough surveillance of Union Council 131. He also directed administrators to conduct weekly meeting at town office and where larva is found this premises should immediately be sealed. EDO Health also briefed that as many as 524 FIRs had been given against non-cooperators of dengue drive and 40 persons were arrested.
