According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 46% people of Pakistan blamed political parties for target killing in Karachi; 30% blamed domestic and foreign intelligence agencies and 13% blamed the land mafia.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “In your opinion, who is responsible for target killings in Karachi?”
Responding to this, 46% believed that political parties are behind target killings in Karachi, 14% believed it the handiwork of US agencies, 8% blamed the Indian agencies while another 8% believed Pakistani agencies are behind target killings. Another13% blamed the land mafia for the lawlessness in the mega city while 11% did not give a view.
