Chinese medic, industrialist kidnapped in Karachi

KARACHI - The city witnessed two high profile kidnappings on Tuesday in which one Chinese doctor and a reputable industrialist were kidnapped from various parts of the metropolis.
Dr Chin-Wong Chow went missing from his clinic located at Haqqani Chowk, Orangi Town. Police said the victim, who accepted Islam and changed his name from Dr Chin Wong Chow to Muhammad Yousuf, was kidnapped for ransom.
Police said the victim was the father of four children and was living at Nazimabad near Board Office. He was running his clinic for the last 20 years.
SHO Asif Rauf said police did not find anything that proved that he was Muslim and added that the kidnappers have so far not demanded ransom for his release. He further said a case 6/12 was registered under Section 365A on the complaint of his brother Ricky Chaing against unidentified culprits.
In another incident, an industrialist of New Karachi Industrial Area was also kidnapped at Ahsanabad, Gulshan-e-Maymar area. Police said the victim Musavir Khan, who was the owner of a factory located in New Karachi Industrial Area, went missing when he was going to Gulshan-e-Maymar to his office.
He was the resident of Block-16, FB Area. SHO Ali Ahmad Bugti said the crime place was yet to be ascertained while the car of the victim was found from Ahsanbad, Gulshan-e-Maymar.
