KARACHI - The Sindh Assembly session will commence on Monday (today) with Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in the chair.
The business of the day could not be issued by the assembly secretariat till late night on Sunday as consultation of the chief minister with his ministers and the party MPAs continued at the CM House.
The assembly staff was present at the assembly secretariat till late night awaiting approval of the business of the day.
There were different views of the PPP leaders at the meeting as some members opined that Sindh Local Government Act 2013 should be tabled at Monday’s session for discussion while other lawmakers said the party should continue consultations to develop consensus on the new law.
It is expected the Sindh government will table the law at Monday’s session; however, MQM has announced to oppose the Sindh Local Government Act 2013 prepared by PPP. The government is not clear whether the bill will be tabled on Monday or not.
The opposition lawmakers from MQM, PML-F, PML-N and PTI will take up the worsening law and order issue at the session. The rising water flow in the Indus and floodwater issue is also likely to be taken up by the lawmakers.
