Durrani’s guards beat secretary Local Goverment

KARACHI - Sindh Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Durrani along with his guards allegedly tortured an 18-grade officer of the same department at Sindh Secretariat office here on Monday.
Talking to the media, Local Government Board Secretary Shaoukat Jokhio alleged that Agha Siraj Durrani and his guards manhandled and thrashed him for not signing the recruitment orders of at least 150 person in back dates as Election Commission has banned the recruitment from January 22, 2013.
He said that while he was present at his office, the local government minister reached there and ordered him to sign the recruitment orders of at least 150 persons in the department in the back dates and following the refusal, he said, the minister and his security guards thrashed him and beat up with slaps and buts of guns, alleging that he suffered fractures and severe injuries.  The officer broke down into tears before media and complained against the local government minister for injustice and torture he suffered by his guards.  The marks of torture were visible at his face and body was his clothes were torn.
He said that he had informed the Chief Secretary about the incident and hoped for the justice.
One the other hand, Agha Siraj Durrani denied all the allegations before the media and said that the secretary of local government board had already been transferred and occupied the office illegally.
Minister said that his private secretary was appointed as the secretary local government board but when he reached the office but Shaoukat Jokhio refused giving the charge and illegally took away the important files of the office.  Minister claimed that Shaukat Jokhio was involved in the land grabbing and corruption as many cases were pending against him at the Anti-Corruption Department. While Shuaka Jokhio announced to lodge a case against the Agha Siraj Durrani.
