KARACHI - Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has declared 13 public colleges most sensitive in terms of cheating.
As many as 232102 candidates are enrolled in the examination while 190,000 candidates will appear in the first phase of examination, which will start fromTuesday.
“The first phase of HSC Part-I & II Annual Examinations for Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, General, Commerce Regular and other Groups will start from April 22,” Chairman of BIEK Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai said. Sindh Chief Minster, Inspector General (IG) Police Sindh, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Karachi and Director General (DG) Rangers have been requested to help the board in term of conducting the intermediate examinations transparently, as the cheating mafia is expected to create mess in the papers.
Prof Zai said that the board had setup around 108 examination centres in Karachi, out of which 13 examination centres have been declared most sensitive and 23 sensitive in the city but these centres will not be changed.
He said a total of 15 vigilance teams have been set up to curb cheating. He said that proper deployment of rangers and police in and around the examination centres may stop the activities of the cheating mafia. All the papers will be held in two shifts - morning and evening, he said.
“The names of the most sensitive examination centres are included, Govt Degree Boys College, Sector 5/L New Karachi; Govt Degree Boys College, 7/D-2, North Karachi; Govt Premier College, North Nazimabad; Jinnah Govt College, Nazimabad; Govt College for Men, Nazimabad; Aisha Bawany Govt Science College; C.M.S Govt Boys Secondary School, Nishter Road; Govt Degree Science & Commerce College, Block 7, Gulshan-e-lqbal; Govt Degree Boys College, Gulistan-e-Jauhar; Govt National College (Morning); PECHS Education Foundation Govt Degree Science College; Govt Inter Boys Science & Commerce College, 36-B Landhi and Govt Deg. Boys College, Korangi 21/2,” he mentioned. The board also requested the K-Electricity not to observe loadshedding in the exam timing in the city, he said.
POWERLESS COLLEGES
As many as 47 public colleges in the city have no electricity supply as K-Electricity has already disconnected their supply on account of non payments. But the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi has included these institutions in list of examination centres to accommodate the candidates.
To a query, the chief of BSEK, Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai told media person that the Directorate Colleges Sindh did not inform the intermediate board about this issue, hence the board could not exclude these institutions from the list of the current examination centres.
