KMC finalises Gule-Dawoodi exhibition arrangements

KARACHI - Parks and Horticulture Department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has finalised all arrangements of five-day Gule-Dawoodi exhibition in Baghe-Ibn-e-Qasim Clifton starting from December 22. Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan will inaugurate the exhibition. KMC expected that a large number of citizens will visit the Gule-Dawoodi exhibition. The Gule-Dawoodi exhibition was a part of plantation and growth of seasonal flowers campaign during winter season under which necessary measures were being taken for greenery and plantation of winter season in the city.The Parks and Horticulture Department was establishing nurseries for the growth of plants and flowers in various areas to reduce environmental pollution and make city green and attractive. Above 12 thousand plants from the various types of seeds imported from Holland for growth of seasonal flowers had been prepared which would be planted in parks, roads and corridors of the city soon.KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed directed Parks and Horticulture officials to hold the exhibition of seasonal and rare flowers along with plantation campaign so that it would help create familiarity of plants and flowers among people.Karachi Administrator said that flowers and trees were a precious gift from nature and they interpret our feelings and emotions on various occasions of life and they also improve the environment.He said that KMC had been arranging the exhibition of Gule-Dawoodi during winter season in which different departments including towns of the city participate. He said the growth of vegetables and fruits was not only high in winter season but a large quantity of coloured and attractive flowers also bloom well in this season.A good number of plants and seasonal flowers should be planted in parks, roads and corridors in the city so that citizens would feel better and enjoy this attractive season, he said.
