Tension prevails after cracker attack


KARACHI - Tension prevailed in North Karachi area after some unidentified persons attacked the office of Muttahida Qaumi Movement with crackers.
Two passersby Arif and Rab Nawaz were wounded in the attack. Following the incident, heavy contingent of law enforcers including Rangers and police were called at the site which cordoned off the entire locality.
Bomb disposal squad was also called at the blast site. Police officials said that two armed men riding a motorcycle threw two crackers at the MQM Unit-137 situated in North Karachi, adding that no MQM worker was injured in the attack.
DSP Chaudhry Akhtar said that the injured persons were immediately taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment while further investigation was underway.
