MQM announces 'mourning day on Tuesday over Karachi killings

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has announced to observe Tuesday as the day of mourning over the recent bloodshed in the city which he termed genocide of Mohajir community, a private TV reported on Monday. Speaking during a news conference MQM Deputy Convener, Dr. Farooq Sattar said some PPP ministers were supporting terrorists in Karachi and no action was being taken against them. He said terrorists from the Peoples Aman Committee were sending slips demanding money and those who refused to pay were being attacked. Commenting on the six days of violence in the city during which at least 91 people were killed, Sattar said terrorists from the Aman Committee were targeting Mohajirs and were kidnapping, torturing and killing them. The MQM Deputy Convener also demanded that the President and Prime Minister take notice of the killing of Mohajirs in Karachi and take action against terrorists from the Peoples Aman Committee and those ministers who are supporting them.
