Jamaat writes to PM about PSM crisis

KARACHI  - Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti has written an open letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif about the alarming conditions the Pakistan Steel Mills is in.
The letter demanded the prime minister to look into the matter on a war-footing basis since PSM was one of the multi-billion state-owned corporations.
Mahenti called for a bailout package for PSM and effective measures for payment of salaries to its staff members and workers before Eidul Fitr. He also complained that PSM employees were without salaries for several months, adding Karachi Electric Supply Company had also disconnected power supply to the corporation.
It may be mentioned here that Mahenti also wrote letters to the federal finance minister, minister for industries and production, finance secretary, and industries and production secretary in this respect.
Jamaat leader Naimatullah Khan meanwhile said the basic aim of politics was to serve the ailing humanity and work for their welfare. He said his party wanted to bring a system, where everyone could enjoy equal rights, without any discrimination.
After distributing ration to 750 deprived families in Federal B Area, Khan said Jamaat did politics for welfare of the people and that party’s welfare wing Al-Khidmat had a unique prestige in carrying out welfare works without any discrimination. He also said his party was always determined to serve the ailing humanity and would continue doing the same.
Other Jamaat leaders Nasrullah Shajih, Farooq Naimatullah, Saeed Moosa and Hasan Hammad also spoke on the occasion.
