3 shot dead; four hurt separately

KARACHI - Three persons were shot dead while four others, including a woman, received serious injuries in separate incidents here on Saturday. An armed culprit opened indiscriminate fire on a man and a woman, riding a rickshaw, at Khayaban bus stop, New Karachi, within the jurisdiction of Bilal Colony police station. Resultantly, the man died on the spot, while the woman sustained critical injuries. Police suspected that old enmity behind the incident. The deceased was not identified till the filing of this story. However, the injured women still in unconscious condition at the hospital, was identified as Shazia. In another incident, a 25-year-old unknown youth was killed when an unidentified gunman opened fire on him at Model Colony, Malir, in the jurisdiction of Model Colony police station. Similarly, 18-year-old Atif was shot dead in Malir, Khokhrapar near Military Dairy Farm on late Friday night. Police said the deceased, a bus conductor, was sleeping on the roof of vehicle when unidentified assailants opened fire on him and fled. In another incident, 55-year-old Rafiq was seriously hurt in Korangi Labour Colony, when unknown robbers shot him over resistance. He was shifted to Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in precarious condition. Meanwhile, 45-year-old pedestrian Farooq was injured when a stray bullet hit him at Regal Chowk, Saddar area within the jurisdiction of Preedy PS. He immediately shifted to the CHK where his condition was said to be out of danger. In another incident, 30-year-old Habib sustained serious wounds after his motorcycle collided with another two-wheeler. He was brought to JPMC in critical condition.
