KARACHI - Leaders of politico-religious parties and scholars on Sunday appealed to the Pakistani nation to boycott products of those manufacturers promoting vulgarity and obscenity through their publicity and marketing campaigns.“It is the high time to initiate efforts against this culture of nudity and vulgarity,” they said as they vowed not to allow the companies destroy the norms and culture of the Pakistani society. These views were expressed by JI Sindh leader Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui, Jamiat Ittehad Ulema-e-Pakistan chief Maulana Abdul Malik, JI Karachi chief Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Qari Abdul Mannan of the JUI-S, Allama Yousuf Kasuri of the Jamiat Ahle Hadith, Dr Amir Abdullah of the Jamiat Ghurba-e-Ahle Hadith, Siddique Rathor of the JUP, Qari Zameer Akhtar Mansoori, Maulana Ibrahim Hanif, Nasarullah Shaji and other clerics in their addresses at a convention organization by the Jamiat Ittehad Ulema Pakistan at the JI’s Karachi office, Idara-e-Noor Haq. A large number of religious scholars, orators and imams of mosques were present at the convention.In his presidential address, Jamiat Ittehad Ulema Pakistan chief Maulana Abdul Malik said that the forces of evil had united against the Islam so it was imperative that the entire Muslim Ummah should unite to combat these evil forces that had been bent upon tarnishing the soft image of Islam and wanted to ruin the Muslim society and Islamic norms and values through imposing nudism and obscene culture. He pointed out that the high moral values of the Muslim were on the target of evil forces and they wanted to completely destroy the values of the Muslim society. He said that the entire nation had the responsibility to boycott all perpetrators and promoters of nudity, vulgarity through commercials on the electronic media. It was the sole responsibility of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to ensure complete blocking of such immodest commercials and should initiate stern action against those involved in the spread and promotion of the menace.Maulana Malik further said that the anti-Islam forces wanted to impose culture of vulgarity and tarnish the modest culture of Islam. Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui said that the promoters of culture of nudity and vulgarism were using women as a tool just for a handful of dollars. Despite the fact that the constitution of Pakistan did not allow any such activities in the Islamic republic of Pakistan but still the Pakistani media was deliberating the spread of culture of nudity and vulgarism. The culture of nudity did not belong to Pakistani society but it was being imposed.Dr Siddiqui stressed upon boycotting products of those companies that used women as a tool and caused the culture of nudity and vulgarism to spread in the Pakistani society.Maulana Qari Abdul Mannan, in his address, said that the promoters of nudity had ruined their life here and hereinafter. They would be subject to stern punishment in the court of Allah. The time has come for us the Ulema to initiate physical efforts for the curtailment of the culture of nudity because the promoters of nudity did not listen to appeals.JI Karachi General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui tabled a resolution, which demanded the government of immediate action against the promoters and promotions of nudity and vulgarism in the country. The resolution further demanded of the PEMRA to take immediate action for curbing the spread of anti-Islam culture in the country. The resolution demanded of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) of immediate action as regards to blocking the websites that had been spreading nudity and vulgar culture in the country. The audience had passed the resolution unanimously by raining their hands.
