IGP seeks report of Tando Adam incident

KARACHI - The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari, has taken a strict notice of the Tando Adam incident in which a mob had lynched a man.
A police statement here on Thursday said that he has sought report from the DIG Mirpurkhas and SSP Sanghar, pertaining to all angles of the incidents and the eye-witness accounts. It further said that the IGP has desired such a report within 24 hours. He stated that in case there is any element of dereliction on the part of the police personnel action should also be ensured against those responsible.
Police arrest 115 accused in last 6 days: The Karachi police in their on-going drive against criminals, arrested 115 accused during the last six days.
A police statement on Thursday said that those arrested included seven absconders and two proclaimed offenders. It said that in encounter with alleged dacoits, two policemen were killed in the jurisdiction of police stations Pak Colony and Garden. As many as 18 gangs of alleged criminals were busted during the period. In all, 77 pistols/revolvers, three rifles/repeaters, SMG, five daggers and 17 mobile phones and cash of Rs15,78,800 recovered from their possession.
