KARACHI - One person was killed and three torture-marked bodies of youth were found here on Monday.
The bodies of three abducted men were found near Super Highway.
The locals informed the police about the bodies. They were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later moved to Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth for identification. Police officials said all the victims were shot in their heads and several marks of torture were also found on them. Gadap City SHO Imtiaz Niazi said the victims were killed after kidnapping. A case has been registered while further investigation was underway.
On the other side, a Muzammil, 17, was shot dead when some armed men opened fire near Khawaja Chowrangi in Landhi area. Police officials said the victim was a worker at a local garment factory. He was on his way to work when the incident took place. They said that it was not a target killing incident but some robbers were busy robbing the passersby in the area and opened fire when the victims offered resistance. As result, a bullet hit him when he was passing from there.
Meanwhile, at least two people were wounded during gang war between two groups in Lyari. The injured were identified as Gauhar, 65, and Idrees, 20. They sustained injuries during rocket and grenade attacks by both the gangster groups – Baba Ladla and Uzair Baloch. Police officials said the parts of Lyari, including Ali Muhammad Mohallah, Zikri Para, Slaughterhouse Road and Eidu Lane areas remained disturbed on Monday. Extra contingent of law enforcers, deployed in the affected areas, have failed to control the worsened law and order situation.
Moreover, over two dozen suspects were taken into custody during targeted operation near Banaras Chowk area in Orangi Town. According to Orangi division SP Chaudhry Asad, the operation was conducted on a tip-off. A total of 25 suspects were taken into custody during house-to-house search operation.
Three alleged gangsters were arrested after an encounter with the police in Kharadar area. The suspects were identified as Farhan aka Indian, Nadeem and Irfan. Police officials also claimed to have recovered two hand grenades and a pistol from their possession. Police officials said the arrested gangsters were associated with the Wasiullah Lakho group of Lyari gangsters and were involved in a number of cases of killings, extortion and kidnapping for ransom. Meanwhile, rangers conducted raids in Landhi, PIB Press Club Quarters, Gulberg, Karimabad, Liaquatabad, Lyari, Ranchore Line, Mehran Town, Bilal Colony, Rafa-e-Aam Society, Natha Khan Goth, Frontier Colony and Orangi areas and apprehended one dozen alleged criminals along with the weapons.
