KARACHI - Under the Bring Light Tour programme proposed by Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabo during his visit in December 2011 to Pakistan, a team headed by Prof Wang Jum from Beijing Tony Ran Hospital operated 80 patients of Cataract at OT Complex, Civil Hospital Karachi on Tuesday.
Other members of the team included Dr Too Jimy (Assistant), Dr Gao Liqin (Assistant), Zhon Lijuan (Nurse), Ms Lu Li Xin (Nurse), Ms Zhang Peny (official), Tang Xintu (Engineer).
Over 200 patients, who were referred by various district’s hospitals, have been registered. The team will operate on Wednesday and Thursday as well.
Earlier, the team had visited Lahore and had operated more than 300 cataract patients. Dr Munir Qureishi had recommended surgeries of these patients. The team also distributed some medicines and other logistics among the patients.
