PSM refutes claims about non-payment of bills

KARACHI – Pakistan Steel Mills has refuted claims of KWSB about non-payment of bills. PSM spokesman said portraying Pakistan Steel as a non-payer of KWSB bills is baseless and unjustified fact. Despite facing financial problems PSM is regularly paying a handsome amount to KWSB on monthly basis on account of monthly bills, he added. He disclosed that Karachi Water and Sewerage Board is its self a defaulter of Rs.350 Million of Pakistan Steel. The PSM spokesman added that on the account of monthly bills (June & July2012) PSM has already submitted Rs20 million in June 2012 and Rs30 million in July 2012 to Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, and after deduction of net amounts of bills and dues, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board will be still the defaulter of about Rs.150 Million.Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has been putting blame of the water shortage the KESC and Pakistan Steel Mill from last few days. He said that PSM is a responsible national entity which always tried to keep the mutual understanding and good relationship with other dealing organisations.On the other side, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board also blamed Karachi Electric Supply Company for water shortage, alleging that frequent loadshedding at Karachi Water & Sewerage Board Dhabeji pumping stations causing disruption in the supply of water in the city. Due to the blame game of service provider organisation, the people are facing water shortage.
