Notorious Lyari gangster killed in shootout

KARACHI - A notorious gangster of Lyari gang was killed in an exchange of fire between police and gangsters in Dalmia Shanti Nagar within the remits of Aziz Bhatti police station.Police officials said the raid was conducted on a tip-off in Dalmia area where gangsters offered resistance upon arrival of police. Gangsters including Sohail, Raja pathan, Ishaq managed to escape while Abdul Shakoor alias Chakor sustained bullet injuries and died on the way to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Police recovered two hand grenades, two Kalashnikovs and a pistol from their possession. Police said the deceased was the most-wanted culprit of Lyari gang war and was involved in more than two dozen cases of heinous crimes. In another incident, a man was gunned down in Baloch Colony within the remits of Ferozabad police station.Police officials said that victim Farhaad, 45, a resident of PECHS, was standing near his truck at Baloch Colony Bridge when some unidentified motorcyclists came and shot him dead. Police shifted the deceased to JPMC for autopsy and later handed over to his family. Police suspected personal enmity the motive behind the murder.Separately, a man was killed and two brothers were wounded in Jaffar Tayyar Society within the limits of Malir City police station.Police officials said that victims Shoaib Raza, 42, Mohsin Raza, 30, and Hassan Raza, 28, were at home where unidentified assailants knock the door. When Shoaib opened the door, they shot him twice. When they were trying to flee, two other brothers of the victim rushed out of the home and came under attack.Police reached the scene and shifted them to JPMC where Shoaib died succumbed to injuries. Police suspected sectarianism the motive behind the attack.Meanwhile, police found a gunny bag body tied with ropes from Lyari Expressway within the limits of Sher Shah police station. Police officials said that unidentified culprits kidnapped the victim from somewhere and threw the body at the said place. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to morgue after completing medicolegal formalities at Civil Hospital.
