ISLAMABAD - PML Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed Friday paid rich tributes to the father of the nation saying that Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah had won freedom for the Muslims of the Subcontinent, single handedly fighting against the clever British empire, Hindu fundamentalists and nationalist and theocratic elements within Muslims. Neither Quaid had the support from Army, atom bomb, US, nor did he have any big money - the elements of todays traditional politics. Rather, the Quaid got an independent homeland for the Muslims single handedly. He was equipped with integrity, faith and character and he, with the support of the Muslims of subcontinent, changed world history, said Mushahid while addressing the participants of Quaid-i-Azam Conference held here at PML House in connection with the 133rd birth anniversary celebrations of the father of the nation. In contrast to the honest leadership of Quaid and his followers, its a shame that the incumbent Ministers are facing disgrace in the courts and public segments for their corrupt practices. Though they are plundering the national resources since decades, yet their lust for money has not fulfilled yet and they want to loot more and more, he remarked. Pakistan Movement leader and President Allama Iqbal Wing, PML, Azad Bin Haider said Vijay Lakshmi Pundit, the sister of Jawaharlal Nehru - the first Prime Minister of India, had paid rich tributes to Quaid-i-Azam in her book, saying If Pakistan Muslim League had 100 Gandhis, and 200 Abulkalam Azad, there would have been no Pakistan on the world map. However, if the Congress had only one Jinnah, India would not have been divided. The 78-year-old Haider, who has authored 32 books on the lives of heroes of Pakistan Movement, added that when Pakistan came into being, the newly established state had no money to pay the salaries of its employees. The Nizam of Hyderabad Deccan, Nawab Usman Ali Khan in year 1947 provided Rs. 200 million, while Nawab of Bahawalpur Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi endowed Pakistan with Rs. 150 million enabling Pakistan government to pay the salaries to its armed forces and civilian employees for the month of August 1947. This was all due to the towering character and integrity of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah, he added. Partys Senior Vice President and former Foreign Minister Akram Zaki said Quaid-i-Azam had spent his days and nights working for a separate homeland for the Muslims of Subcontinent, as he did not want a repeat of genocide conducted in Spain after the fall of Muslim rule there. Highlighting the integrity and honesty of the colleagues and followers of Quaid-i-Azam, Zaki said Nawab Liaquat Ali Khan had left all his assets in India and after his death there was no asset left for Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan to spend her life with. Former federal minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan called for unification of all factions of PML, saying the countrys situation demanded all leaguers to get united on a single platform rising above all petty political and personal differences. We are ignoring the golden principles set by Quaid - faith, unity, and discipline and we would have to reiterate firm resolve to follow the saying of great Quaid, he added.
