Bilawal warmly greets Christians on Christmas

KARACHI – Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has extended a very happy Christmas to all the Christian community people, and those celebrating the feast around the world. He expressed hope that this Christmas would bring joy and peace to the country.The PPP Chairman, in his message on the Christmas, said,”I hope that Christmas would be enjoyable and may the essence of Christmas remains always with the people celebrating it with religious and traditional fervour”. He said that the PPP believed in the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He again assured all the minorities, including Christian community, that the PPP would always follow the ideology of its forefathers to treat them equally in all spheres of life as the citizens of the country. He pledged that his party would extend every kind of protection to all the citizens without any discrimination to follow and observe their respective religions without any fear as his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and mother Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto lost their lives during the struggle for and egalitarian society where everybody should have equal rights. The religious festival of Christmas was celebrated here with religious fervour like other parts of the country.   People dressed in red coats, caps and white beards, to depict the famous character, Santa Claus doled out gifts and sweets to children, while special services were held in churches. Special prayers were offered for peace, progress and prosperity of the country.  A large number of people belonging to Christian community celebrated their religious festival with fervour and zeal. Churches and localities of Christian citizens were decorated and illuminated with colourful lights. People exchanged greetings and cake-cutting ceremonies were held. Strict security arrangements were made around all the churches and the city police had devised specific security plans on the occasion.
