6 more gunned down in Karachi

KARACHI - Six people were gunned down in various violent incidents here on Friday.
A local builder was shot dead near Chandni Cinema, block 6, Gulshan-e-Iqbal by unknown assailants.
DSP Nasir Lodhi said victim Rizwan Butt was going home when gunmen targeted his car and fled. He was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced his death. Lodhi said the victim was working as a builder in Gulshan and Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. Police suspected the incident occurred over personal enmity.
In another incident of target killing, gunmen riding a motorbike shot dead a man in Landhi police precincts. Police said victim Rehmat Ali was standing outside his residence at Sector 36-D, Landhi when gunmen riding a motorbike shot him multiple times and escaped. Ali was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced his death. Police have failed to ascertain the motive behind the killing.
In Quaidabad police precincts, gunmen shot dead a cleric in Old Muzaffarabad Colony. Police said Qari Fazlur Rehman, cleric of area seminary, was going to seminary when gunmen riding a motorbike targeted him multiple times and managed to flee from the scene. Police shifted the body to hospital for autopsy and later handed over to the family.
On the other side, Gulistan-e-Jauhar police found a dead body of a man from the nullah passing through the Jauhar area. it was shifted to the morgue for identification after autopsy where the victim was identified as Muhammad Khan. The motive behind the murder has yet to be ascertained. Another dead body was found from Lyari riverbed, Akber Road which was shifted to morgue for identification after autopsy.  
ENCOUNTERS
Law enforcement agencies claimed to have killed another key-accused, allegedly involved in attack on Kamra Base, in Macchar Colony of Docks area here on Friday.
The encounter took place in the slum locality of Macchar Colony where rangers conducted intelligence based operation against the criminal. During exchange of fire, the accused persons identified as Noman aka Nomi was killed. Ranger spokesperson claimed the militant was affiliated with Al-Qaeda and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
The militant was involved in 2012 Kamra Base attack. He was also involved in trafficking of suicide bombers from North Waziristan Agency and also wanted in other terror incidents across the country, he said.
The spokesperson said a submachine gun (SMG) and a grenade were also recovered from his possession.
On last Friday, rangers claimed to have killed an alleged mastermind of the attack on Kamra Base in an encounter with the paramilitary force in Mauripur’s Musharraf Colony. The alleged mastermind Bilal Khan was also associated with the TTP and Al-Qaeda.
Separately, a notorious target killer Kashif aka Cheeta was apprehended during a joint targeted raid in Korangi area by the police, rangers and intelligence agency. He said the accused belonged to a political party and was involved in a number of cases of targeted killings.
 He was also involved in various cases of heinous crimes. Weapons were also recovered from his possession. The suspect was shifted to undisclosed location for further questioning.
Meanwhile, two more suspects were arrested during a joint raid by the police and the rangers in Bengali Para area, Quaidabad. The arrested suspects were identified as Wasi Ahmed Khan and Fakhar aka Irfan. A hand grenade and a pistol were also recovered from their possession. Police officials said the suspects were the workers of a political party. They were involved in over 20 cases of target killing including the killing of law enforcers.
