Faryal mediates truce between Mardan, Yousaf

KARACHI – Following their meeting with PPP leader MNA Faryal Talpur on Sunday, Sindh Minister for Population Welfare Ali Mardan Shah and MNA Nawab Yousaf Talpur agreed to a truce.
The party leadership directed both the lawmakers not to make any statements against each other, as their grievances had been resolved by Faryal Talpur, sister of President Zardari.
Sources said that Ali Mardan Shah and Yousaf Talpur met with MNA Faryal Talpur at the Zardari House, where she listened to them. “The two legislators blamed each other for meddling in each other’s constituencies,” added the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Yousaf Talpur complained that his area, Umerkot, had been continuously ignored as regards development works. Even, bureaucrats of his area were not ‘cooperating’ with him, contended the MNA.
Faryal Talpur directed them not to interfere in each other’s constituency and that their problems would soon be resolved.
Yousaf Talpur, after the meeting, averred that he had no differences with the provincial minister, adding that he would not make any statement against Syed Ali Mardan Shah.
The population welfare minister also confirmed that all the issues between him and Yousaf Talpur had been resolved.
The two PPP leaders from Umerkot district had levelled allegations of corruption against each other.
Two days ago, Yousaf Talpur and his son, MPA Nawab Taimour Talpur, alleged that Ali Mardan Shah had been involved in selling of government jobs and smuggling of gold. In his response, Mardan Shah accused Yousaf Talpur and his of corruption.
Taking notice of this standoff, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, who is also the PPP Sindh chief, formed a committee of PPP leaders and ministers to pacify the duel. Nevertheless, Faryal Talpur succeeded in mediated a truce between the PPP lawmakers.
