Op to hold ‘Train March’ on March 3


KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami along with other opposition parties has decided to hold ‘Train March’ from Karachi to Rawalpindi against the misdeed and absence of army personnel in voters’ verification process on March 3.
This was announced by JI Karachi Chief Hussain Mehanti chaired a meeting with the opposition parties’ leaders at Idara Noorul Haq here on Tuesday.
Irfan Ullah Marwat of PML-N, Hafeezuddin of PTI, Mufti Umer Sadiq of JUI-F, Nadeem Mirza PML-F, Syed Zia of NPP and other opposition parties’ leaders were the part of the meeting. 
It came in discussion that mistakes repeated during the verification of electoral rolls had created doubt in the upcoming polls.
Election Commission failed to implement the Supreme Court verdict for the preparation of transparent electoral rolls, and disappointed the political parties and Karachiites, it added.
It was decided that they will march from Karachi to Rawalpindi and will not accept the transgression in voters list.
On the occasion, Mahenti said holding of fair and free elections was a basic root of the democracy, adding the current democratic process is not being run in befitting manner.
He said “Thappa Mafia” was seizing the mandate of the City and details of the ‘Train March’ will be announced in the press conference on February 28 (tomorrow).
